For a long time I was very anti kipping HSPU. At the CrossFit Gymnastics cert I attended back in 2009 the CrossFit gymnastics SME said when asked about kipping HSPU “They don’t exist. It just isn’t a thing.” Well, Jeff Tucker surely knew about them at the time, but his point was regarding gymnastics skills and strength, it has no purpose and if we want to improve, we should not do them. CrossFit and competitive exercising has come a long ways since then and there can be a time and place for kipping your HSPU as my friend Ryan points out in the article below.
